FAQs – below you’ll find some information on frequently asked questions about Trekfest. This will be updated as needed and as the event draws closer.
What is the date and location for Trekfest XXXIV for 2018?
Trekfest is always celebrated the last Saturday in June. In 2018, this falls on Saturday June 30 and hours will be 7am-12am. Friday June 29th, the ball tournament, music, food and kid’s activities will commence around 5pm and go until late. We will also hold an overnight softball tournament, along with Star Trek films projected in the park. Trekfest is held in Hall Park which is on Ella Street behind Caseys in Riverside Iowa. Other events such as the parade, guest speakers, 5k and water fights are held around the town of Riverside – St. Mary’s church, fire station, and the Voyage Home Museum.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There is no ID requirement or age limit to enter the event. In order to purchase alcoholic beverages, you must provide ID showing you are over 21 years of age. No exceptions. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
You may park throughout Hall Park during TrekFest. The outer ball park is used as overflow for the demolition derby parking. Parking is free. There are marked handicapped accessible parking spots. If you need assistance getting into the park a member of RACC may escort you via golf cart to the tent or other festival areas.
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
Coolers of alcohol are not permitted within the park during TrekFest. Alcohol may be purchased at the beer tent or at the demolition derby during the event. While there are folding chairs in the food tent area, we recommend bringing a lawn chair to enjoy the music in the park.
